Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: Taking serious note of the Kandhamal firing incident which claimed the lives of five innocent villagers, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) will hold an important meeting in Delhi on Thursday.

According to sources, Odisha Home secretary Asit Tripathy, DGP KB Singh and SC/ST secretary Surendra Kumar have been asked to attend the meeting today.

On Wednesday, NCSC had summoned them asking them to appear before it on July 21.

Notably, chairman NCSC PL Punia had visited Gumudumaha village and spoke to the family members and relatives of the victims last Thursday. Condemning the incident, Punia had said stern action must be taken against the wrongdoers.
