Dhenkanal: Demanding repair of NH 53 and construction of drainage system in the town, Kamakhyanagar Notified Area Council (NAC) councillors are today, observing a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh.

The bandh has paralysed normal traffic in the town besides shops and business establishments remaining closed.

"The sub-collector and officials of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had assured us to fulfill all our demands. It has been more than a week, but the administration is yet to act on it," said Kamakhyanagar NAC chairman Dharmanand Parida. So, we have resorted to bandh again; we have blocked the NH, and closed all government offices, educational institutions and business houses," Parida added.

Earlier on March 25, the NAC had given a bandh call demanding repair of the NH and construction of roadside drainage channels from Alatoma to Jiridamali here.
