Juvenile delinquent arrested for sodomy

Kendrapara: A 17-year-old juvenile delinquent was arrested today for allegedly sodomising a 14-year-old dalit boy in Kendrapara district.

Police said the delinquent was arrested from Bodhgaon village, about 20 km from here and a medical examination of both the accused and the victim at a nearby government hospital had confirmed sodomy.

The accused was booked under sections 377 (sex against the order of nature), 342 (wrongful confinement), 294 (obscene act), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012.

He was forwarded to district juvenile justice board and the board later remanded him to reformatory home at Berhampur, the police said.
