Vigilance raid on junior MVI

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on the office and residences of Prabhas Das, Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector (JMVI) of Malkangiri on the charge of accumulation of properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to reports, Prabhas owns houses in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Bhadark and Dhamara along with some cars.

His total assets have been estimated at Rs 1.77 crore, said vigilance cops.

Notably, the anti-corruption wing conducted raids at his ancestral house in Bhadrak, father-in-law’s house in Nayapalli area and his residence at Shastri Nagar in Bhubaneswar this morning.

According to sources, the cops have seized some cash, gold jewellery, bank passbooks and other savings instruments during the raid.
