Jumbo menace: One more killed in Sundergarh

Sundergarh: A villager was trampled to death by an elephant in Kadopani village under Nuagaon block of Sundergarh district today.

The mishap took place early in the morning when one Ishak Kujur, who had gone to attend nature’s call, encountered an elephant and was trampled to death by the wild animal.

On receiving information, forest officials reached the spot and launched operations to drive away wild elephants roaming in villages near the forest area to avert any further eventuality.

Sources said a herd of about 16 elephants have been causing menace in the area for past few days.

In last one month, as many as seven persons have lost their lives in elephant attacks in Sundergarh.
