Jumbo herd tramples woman to death, destroys houses

Sundergarh: A herd of wild elephant today wrecked havoc in Lulukidhi village under Sadar range of the district. The herd destroyed seven thatched houses and trampled an elderly woman to death at the village.

The forest department rushed to the spot and drove the animals away from the human habitation. Meanwhile, the local residents have demanded compensation from the government and pucca houses under the Housing scheme of government.
