Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Jual Oram has targeted the State Government in the Kunduli gangrape incident, accusing the administration for taking late decisions over the sensitive issue.

After the State government's decision to set up a Judiciary committee to investigate into the Kunduli gangrape incident, Oram alleged that the decision to be a drama and show off of the government and further questioned the delay in decision of setting up of the investigative committee.

"This is nothing but drama and they should stop playing politics over the incident else the people of that area will give befitting reply to the State government. If a judiciary inquiry was to be set up then why was the decision not taken from day one by the Chief Minister!" questioned Oram.

Oram further alleged, "They are trying to mock people by taking the matter casually. Though I don't have any proof but I doubt involvement of some members of the ruling government in the incident for which the administration is playing political game over the matter."

Reacting to Oram's allegation, BJD MP Balabhadra Majhi said, "We have taken necessary steps required for the investigation. An SP comes under the provision of Central Government not State government. So it is not fair to allege that the information provided by him is false. The investigation should be done step by step for accurate results and we are following it."
