Jeypore: A failed love affair ended in tragedy after a girl was shot dead by her jilted lover at Bareniput village under Jeypore Sadar police limits.

According to sources, the deceased girl was one of the cousins of the accused. Following the incident the accused youth was caught by locals and thrashed.

Later on the youth was handed over to the police and further investigation has begun into the incident.
