Jawan dies after falling off cliff

Rayagada: A CRPF jawan died after falling off a cliff into a canal at Raijibi under Chandrapur block here today.

According to reports, Siba Mundary posted as a CRPF jawan in the 8th battalion and a resident of N Nargada village in Sundergarh accidentally fell down from a rock overhang during a combing operation.

He received severe concussions and injuries to other body parts but was immediately rescued and admitted to Chandrapur health centre where he succumbed to his injuries.

Probe to ascertain the exact reason of the accident that led to the death of the jawan is underway.
