Bhubaneswar: Jaundice scare has once again gripped the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar with around 82 people already affected by the water-borne disease.

According to sources, jaundice cases have been reported from Jadupur area in Bhubaneswar. District health authorities have made arrangements for the treatment of the affected persons.

It has been found out that contaminated water has led to the spread of the disease in the area, informed sources.

The administration has also taken steps to distribute Halogen Tablets and bleach the vulnerable water sources.

Local legislator Ashok Panda and BMC mayor Anant Narayan Jena visited the spot and reviewed the situation.

A decision was taken to bury all the six contaminated wells and set up three new tube wells immediately. Morover, the locals will also be provided with free pipe water connection, sources said.
