Bhubaneswar: Odisha is celebrating Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Shree Krishna today with religious fervour, enthusiasm and devotion.

Thousands of devotees were seen thronging to various temples to observe the birth anniversary of Lord Shree Krishna as special arrangements were made at the temples for the annual celebration.

Fasting devotees were seen making a beeline at temples in the twin cities to catch a glimpse of the deity.

In Puri Srimandir, the birth anniversary of lord Krishna is being observed with rituals. Similarly, devotees have made a beeline at Puri Satyabadi Sakhigopinath temple, where the birth rituals of Shree Krishna are being carried out following the evening prayer.

Janmashtami marks the beginning of preparations for celebration of Durga Puja with collection of clay for Goddess Durga’s idols.
