Jamir clarifies he is fine, rubbishes heart attack talks

Bhubaneswar: A day after media reported Odisha Governor SC Jamir was unwell, Jamir today stated he is fine and had visited Apollo Hospital for just a normal check up.

In a video which went viral on social media, Jamir also stated, "It is unfortunate that a misinformation is doing rounds on media that I had a heart attack."

Later in the day, the Governor was discharged from the hospital.

However, the Raj Bhavan sources have not stated anything on the matter yet.

Yesterday, media reported that Jamir had been admitted to Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar, after his health condition deteriorated following some days’ of uneasiness since October 15. He complained of chest pain and also faced some discomfort while eating, it was reported.

Cardiac specialist of the Apollo Hospital Dr PK Sahu had stated although the condition of the Governor is stable, he has been kept under observation.

“After preliminary check-ups we found that the Governor had sustained a mild attack earlier today morning. Since heart attack is very unpredictable he will remain under observation today,” Sahu had said.

All the necessary tests like ECG, blood tests have been performed and he is communicating well. All the reports are normal except a mild change in ECG report. If his health shows signs of improvement then he might be discharged by tomorrow, Sahu had added.
