Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today asked authorities of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Puri collector to file an affidavit on the status of the ongoing repair and restoration work of Jagamohan inside the Shri Jagannath temple.

The court issued the directive while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on this issue.

Acting on the directive of the court, the ASI submitted a status report in the court today claiming that 80 percent of the repair and restoration work of Jagamohan had been completed a five-member expert team formed to complete the pending work.

The court, however, asked the ASI officials to submit the status report through an affidavit and directed the SJTA and the Puri collector to submit affidavits in response to the affidavit of the ASI.

The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for August 3.
