Puri/Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court today asked the Odisha government to file affidavit on monetary grant and deadline for the Jagamohan repair work and posted the next hearing on January 3.

Besides, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) informed the High Court about a detailed plan on the portal frame design for repair work of the Jagamohan of Srimandir through an affidavit.

The ASI director general (DG) has approved the portal frame design proposed by the Odisha Works department on basis of recommendations made by the Core Committee formed to suggest on the design for the Jagamohan repair, stated Nayak further.

As a case on Jagamohan repair is pending before the Orissa High Court, the ASI was asked by the court earlier to inform it regarding the design decided upon and deadline when the work will be finished.

Notably, the ASI had objected to the launch of work for framing around the Jagamohan as per the portal frame design and sought a no-risk certificate from the Odisha government.

However, the Secretary of the Works department had replied to the Archaeological Survey of India saying that as the ASI is in charge of the conservation of the Srimandir, the central organisation should also decide upon the design for the Jagamohan repair.
