Irrigation JE in vigilance net

Balasore: Vigilance officials on Wednesday raided houses of Bhabani Shankar Panigrahi, junior engineer of Subarnarekha Irrigation Project at Morada block in Mayurbhanj district on the allegation of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.

The Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raid at four places, including his ancestral house at Jambeswar, his own house at Chunabhati and in-laws’ house at Sahupada in Balasore district and Jambira canal division office of the Subarnarekha Irrigation Project at Morada in Mayurbhanj district.

Four teams headed by Vigilance DSP Madhusudan Behera carried out the search in the morning and seized land Pattas, bank passbooks, gold ornaments, documents related to his fixed deposits and insurance bonds.
Sources said the engineer also has two storied buildings at various places.
