Bhubaneswar: To facilitate pilgrims planning to visit sacred destinations across the country, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with an initiative to run a special train from Bhubaneswar that will cover all holy places of Western India at a special discount offer.

At a presser organised in Bhubaneswar today, the IRCTC authorities informed that the Astha Special Tourist Train will depart from Bhubaneswar on March 10 at 12 pm and return on March 22.

As per sources, of the 12 Jyotirlingas situated in different parts of India, the tour would take the pilgrims to Panch Jyotirlingas and later proceed to the famous Shirdi Sai temple in Maharashtra.

The cost of the complete package for the 12-day trip has been fixed at Rs 12,285 per head. As per sources, the package will provide sleeper class tickets, accomodation and fooding including breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tourist guides to help them in every place.

Tourism Supervisor of IRCTC, Priti Pattnayak said, “This is an initiative of IRCTC to facilitate the people of Odisha who wish to visit various pilgrimage destinations. Starting from tickets, accommodation and fooding, we are also providing travel insurance to the pilgrims. The tour covers West India circuit including Shirdi Sai temple in Nasik and Akshardham in Ahmedabad and Panch Jyotirlingas.”
