Irate locals block NH-60 after villager killed in mishap

Balasore: Irate locals blocked NH-60 near Phuladi Chhak under Sahadebkhunta police limits demanding an ex gratia for family of a villager, who was run over by a truck on the national highway this morning.

They sought the district administration’s intervention in setting up of proper traffic management system at the chhak as five persons have reportedly lost their lives in road mishaps in past six months.

After a considerable period, the local police reached the spot and pacified the locals following which the blockade was withdrawn.

The deceased was identified as Seik Nizamuddin, a resident of Ramakrushnapur in Basta.
