Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday effected a major reshuffle in IPS level by changing portfolios of 19 senior officers.

Director General of Prisons, BK Sharma was appointed DG Fire Services and Commandant General, Home Guards in place of Binoy Behera, who retired today.

Binayand Jha, who is presently posted as ADG, Law and Order, has been given charge of Prisons and Director, Correctional Services in place of Sharma.

Additional DGP and CMD Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation, Santosh Kumar Upadhaya has been given charge as ADG, CID and Crime Branch.

Debasish Panigrahi has been appointed as the new director general of Vigilance. The post was lying vacant after RP Sharma was made DGP, Odisha.

Arun Bothra, posted as IG Railways, is the new IG of Police (Modernisation), Satyajit Mohanty Addl. DGP (Provisioning), Arun Ray, ADG Communications and Pranabindu Acharya, ADG, Railway and Coastal Security.

Santosh Bala has been appointed as the special secretary to Odisha government, Home Department while Asheet Panigrahi has been appointed as IG Police Headquarters and Amitabh Thakur as IG Law and Order.

SP, Railways, Sanjay Kaushal has been promoted to the rank of DIG, Vigilance.
