Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s Skill Development chief Subroto Bagchi today said the needy sections of the society requires involvement of business houses and corporations apart from money.

Addressing at the OTV CSR Conclave 2016 here, Bagchi stated, “Inclusion of marginalized sections of the society into the supply chain is more than any CSR activity.”

Citing the example of ITC who had lifted agarbatis from the SHGs located in Jatni, Kendrapara and nearby places and procurement of mangoes by the supply chain of Mother Dairy from Baripada, Bagchi said, “As part of CSR activity, integration is more impactful.”

Besides, Bagchi said companies or corporations must work in the direction of benefit of people at their own backyard.

“They should note that beneficiaries are far removed from them,” Bagchi stated.
