Cuttack: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Orissa High Court challenging the logo design of “'Invest Odisha” – an ongoing year-long campaign by the Odisha government aimed to draw more investors to the state.

Stating that the design and shape of the 'O' alphabet used in logo has hurt his religious sentiments, the petitioner Deben Satyadarshi Nanda filed the PIL on Tuesday.

"The 'O' of Odisha in the logo depicts Lord Jagannath's eye. It is of the same colour, design and shape. I challenged it since it hurts my religious sentiments," Nanda explained in his PIL.

The court accepted the petition and served notices to Chief Secretary AP Padhi and Industries Secretary and IPICOL CMD Sanjeev Chopra asking them to submit a reply.
