Bhubaneswar: The world is celebrating the third International Yoga Day today and Odisha is no exception. A function on this occasion was inaugurated by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Janata Maidan here in the city.

Hundreds of People from various strata of society attended the function. The theme of Yoga Day that began to be celebrated from June 21, 2015, this year is Yoga for health.

A State level function on International Yoga Day will be inaugurated by Health minister Pratap Jena at Jaydev Bhavan at 9.30 am. The event is being organised by National Ayush Mission.

Culture Minister Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Bijaya Kumar Mohanty, Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra and Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena are also scheduled to attend the function.

As a part of yoga day celebrations, various yoga camps are being organised throughout the state and country.

Beautiful sand sculptures have been created at Puri beach by renowned sand artists Sudarsan Pattnaik and Manas Kumar Sahoo to create awareness on Yoga. A message on how Yoga will benefit your mind and spirit and keep your body healthy is being given through it. Tourists have crowded the beach to see the sculptures.
