Berhampur: Taking a serious note of the death of a boy infant due to wrong injection at Bikrampur village of Khallikote in Ganjam district, the Collector today suspended ANM Manorama Bindhani and ordered for a probe into the matter.

Ganjam Collector Prem Chandra Chaudhary said, “The CDMO was asked to suspend the ANM. Besides, two inquiries have been set up to probe into the infant death due to a wrong injection. While the Tehsildar is probing the matter, the CDMO has also been asked to investigate the case.”

He added, “The police are conducting searches to nab the accused after registering a case.”

Family of the deceased said their child, Aditya, lost consciousness after an injection was administered to him by the ANM’s son Swagata.

To give some relief from the unbearable pain due to a minor leg injury, the family members of Aditya had taken the child to the ANM’s house for treatment. But Swagata gave a wrong injection to the child in absence of the ANM at her house.
