Bhubaneswar: Two days after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked the Collectors to stop PC (Percentage Commission) culture at block level, Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra today welcomed the move but firm on early implementation of Odisha Lokayukta Act, which would help stop the practice of collection of commission.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mishra said he welcomes the move against PC if Naveen Patnaik is really serious about it. "To convince people that you are really serious, you should take immediate steps for enforcing the Odisha Lokayukta Act which has already received the assent of the President of India and awaiting government notification for implementation of the law,” the letter read.

Stating that PC system is rampant at all blocks, Mishra wrote he hopes for early implementation of the legislation which can deal with corruption matters. "So long the step is not taken there is every reason for people to think that your call for abolition of PC is a political slogan and lacks political will," he said through the letter.
