IIT Bhubaneswar girl creates history, offered Rs 39 lakh salary!

Bhubaneswar: Making a mark in the ongoing campus selection process, a student of computer science and engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar was offered the highest annual salary package ever in the history of the institution.

The girl, R Likhita Sarma, who will graduate this year at the institution, was selected for Adobe in the campus selection at Rs 39 lakh annual salary. The Telangana girl has been offered the highest amount ever offered to a student in the Bhubaneswar campus since its first batch graduated in 2012.

Prior to this, the highest package offered to any student from the institution was Rs 38 lakh in 2016, while last year, the highest offer grabbed by another boy was Rs 34 lakh.

However, as per reports, students from the IITs in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Roorkee and Guwahati have been offered annual pay packages of Rs 1 crore earlier.

Apart from Sarma, four others have been offered an annual package of Rs 31.5 lakh by Goldman Sachs, while more than 50 per cent students have got offers above Rs 20 lakh, sources added.
