Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday sent a strong message to the Centre over construction of second bridge on Brahmani River in Rourkela.

Speaking to media, Patniak said Odisha govt would hold talks with the Centre on second bridge over Brahmani river issue and if the latter fails to begin the work, the State government would build the bridge from its own pocket.

"I will discuss this issue with the Central government. If they are not serious about it, we will build the bridge from our own funds," the CM said.

Resentment is brewing among Rourkela residents over the inordinate delay in construction of the second bridge on Brahmani River. Locals alleged that PM Modi cheated them as he didn't keep his promise to build the bridge even after being in power for nearly four years.
