Bhubaneswar: The IAS officers’ association in Odisha today condemned the misbehaviour of servitors towards Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal during the Niladri Bije ritual at Puri on Sunday night.

The association also passed a resolution demanding disciplinary action against the errant servitors. They supported the way the Puri Collector handled the matter after the servitors misbehaved with him.

More than 20 IAS officers met at the Pantha Nivas here and listened to the version of Agarwal.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, Agarwal said, “I apprised the association of the incident and action being taken,” adding that he is satisfied with the action.

He added, “I thank the association for showing solidarity with me.”

He further stated, “This kind of situation should not arise again anywhere in the State.”

Secretary of the officers’ association Vishal Dev said attention of the State government will be drawn to the matter.
