Rourkela: Six persons including hubby of a woman, who was found dead in a house at the Chhend Bank colony on September 7, were arrested late last night for murder.

Police sources said the six accused were held after several raids at different places last night.

Police said Kamal Kishore Oram, husband of the deceased Janaki Oram, had an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law and another woman.

To eliminate Janaki, Kamal, working at the State Bank of India as a Deputy Manager, had hatched a plan with his sister-in-law and another woman and engaged three hired (supari) killers from Jharkhand.

On September 7, the hired killers murdered Janaki, who was staying at house number-27 in the bank colony, by slitting throat in her room at around 8 pm.

Police zeroed in on the hubby of the woman and quizzed him after paternal members of the deceased alleged Kamal Kishore has murdered his wife.

As no valuables were stolen from the house, the police was sure that the the murder of the woman was pre-planned.

“After collecting detailed information in the case, we arrived at a conclusion that the murder has been carried out in a pre-planned manner. We also found criminal conspiracy in the case and use of hired killers to eliminate the victim”, Rourkela DSP Pradyumna Kumar Mishra told media persons here.
