Keonjhar: While nearly six lakh students in Odisha are busy preparing for the matriculation examinations that will start tomorrow, students of Maa Mangala GP High School at Balijodi village in Ghatagaon of Keonjhar expressed their resentment over new rules which have stipulated that the students will have to appear examination not in their own schools but in separate schools.

The school students and their parents staged a dharna in front of the Ghatagaon BEO's office alleging that lodging and fooding will be major problems as the examination centre is situated 23 kilometres away from the village.

They have threatened to boycott the exam if adequate measures are not taken immediately.
The District Collector had been apprised earlier about the situation but, even a day before the examination; no steps have been taken, said sources.

The school students and their parents staged demonstration opposing inaction.
