He said the House panel, in the upcoming meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will urge him to fix the MSP  at Rs 2930 per quintal.

Chairing the meeting, Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari said the paddy MSP is fixed during June and July but before that a memorandum would be given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the other hand, BJP members did not turn up at the meeting. Reacting on this, Food Supplies Minister Sanjay Dasburma said absence of BJP leaders in the meeting is a betrayal to the farmers’ community.
