Bhubaneswar: The State Assembly has been adjourned till Friday after the House moved and adopted condolence motion on deaths of sitting Congress legislator Subal Sahu and former MLA Sura Sethi and a martyred police constable.

As soon as the House assembled on first day of the monsoon session today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved the condolence motion, which was supported by Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and BJP member Pradip Purohit.

Later Speaker Pradip Amat adjourned the business of the House till tomorrow in respect to the departed souls.

The monsoon session, which began today and will continue till September 16, has six days for official members and two are private members’ days.
