Hospital fire: Manoj Nayak’s bail plea hearing postponed to Oct 27

Bhubaneswar: The Khordha SDJM court today postponed the hearing of the bail petition filed by SUM hospital owner Manoj Nayak to October 27.

The court postponed the bail plea hearing as police failed to furnish the case diary before it. Natak will stay at the Jharpada jail till the next hearing.

On the other hand, a team of the Fire Services department went to the ill-fated Sum Hospital for investigation. Earlier on Monday, the Commissionerate police had interrogated vice-chancellor of the SOA University Amit Banerjee for around two hours. Besides, the cops had also verified documents regarding registration of SUM hospital at the office of the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET).

Meanwhile, the death in the hospital fire mishap reached 27 on Monday with the death of another patient at the AMRI Hospital.
