Honour killing suspected behind woman’s death

Rourkela: A woman has been allegedly murdered by her parents in a suspected case of honor killing in Rourkela. The victim was identified as Amruta.

The victim’s husband Nasim Khan on Thursday alleged that Amruta’s parents have killed her and discreetly cremated her body without informing him.

According to reports, both Nasim and Amruta had tied nuptial knot in 2016 while the latter’s parents were against their relationship. Theirs was a love marriage.

It was on the request of in-laws, Nasim had allowed Amruta to visit her parents for a marriage function.

Basing on the complaint filed by Nasim, police have registered a case and have detained two members of deceased Amruta’s family and further investigation has started into the incident.
