Hockey star Birendra Lakra ties knot

Jharsuguda: Ace hockey player and Indian hockey team defender Birendra Lakra tied knot at a church here on Monday.

The 26-year-old international and Olympian defender got married to Rashmita Kerketta, a resident of Amalipalli police colony in Jharsuguda. The marriage was solemnised at Arnold Church here.

MP and former Indian hockey team captain Dilip Tirkey and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Hockey star Birendra Lakra, said, “I will continue to do what I was earlier doing for my team. I will do better for my team.”

“He has been supporting me since the beginning. I hope it will continue in the future. He will continue to play hockey as before,” Rashmita Kerketta, wife of Lakra said.

“I extend my best wishes to both Lakra and his wife. I wish them a happy and peaceful conjugal life ahead,” said MP and former Indian hockey team captain Dilip Tirkey.
