Hirakud releases season’s second flood water

Sambalpur: With the water level in its reservoir increasing due to rains in the upper reaches of Mahanadi, the Hirakud dam released this season’s second flood water on Wednesday.

According to reports, the excess water of the dam is being released by two sluice gates.

In the initial phase, we have opened two gates. After reviewing the situation, we will decided whether to open more gates or not, said a dam official.
