Sambalpur: With the water level in its reservoir increasing due to rains in the upper reaches of Mahanadi, the Hirakud dam on Saturday opened two more sluice gates to release the flood water.

According to reports, the excess water of the dam is being released by nine sluice gates.

Notable on August 5, the dam had released season’s first flood water by 10 sluice gates.
