Kendrapara: The Kendrapara District Planning & Monitoring Unit (DPMU) has sought a report on the rural overhead water tank project in Purussottampur funded from MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda’s local area development (LAD) fund after the project inauguration was hijacked by the Marshaghai block chairperson.

The planning and monitoring unit has sought the report from the Executive Engineer of the RWS&S Division based on the letter from the office of MP Jay Panda alleging that the non-officially the project has been inaugurated by some people at Marsaghai which is a violation of MPLAD guidelines.

“In this connection I am to request you to intimate the date of completion of the project along with date of handing over the asset to the user agency/beneficiary organisation (name) along with a report on which circumstances, the project could be inaugurated by the public without prior information to the District Authority, within a week positively for kind information of Collector, Kendrapara and further follow up and action,” the letter from the deputy director of the DPMU stated.
