Sources said around 15 days back a male student allegedly misbehaved with the girl on the hostel building roof. Though mother of the girl lodged a complaint before the principal regarding the misbehaviour, no action was taken.

Today the student along with her mother and brother had come to meet the college authorities but the Principal scolded the student and called her characterless, informed sources.

“I and my sister came to the college to meet the Principal. However, the college authorities shouted at us and said my sister is characterless,” brother of the girl stated.

On the other hand, authorities of the Hi-Tech Medical College refuted the charges and said the student is a psychosis patient.

“The student was having psychosis disorder and she has been under treatment since long time. In college also she used to faint and babble. Today she pushed her mother aside and jumped off the third floor of the hostel building. Immediately we sent her to hospital and did a CT scan. She is all right, but she has sustained fracture in her ankle joint,” stated Asishbala Mohapatra, prinicipal, Hi-Tech Nursing College.
