Bhawanipatna: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kalahandi has decided to strictly enforce the Supreme Court guidelines on mandatory use of helmet for two wheeler riders, from December 26.

Awareness rallies at different places in Junagarh, Kesinga and Bhawanipatna were conducted today by the RTO to inform people about the importance of wearing helmet while riding two-wheeler.

"Simultaneous awareness rallies were conducted at Dharmagarh, Junagarh, Bhawanipatna and Kesinga. The system is implemented from today and will be followed strictly from December 26. Persons violating the order will be punished under Section 138 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules,"said Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector of Kalahandi, Rabin Pattnaik.
