Bhubaneswar: There seems to be no respite from scorching heat as temperatures across Odisha is likely to be around 39 degree Celsius,informed the Regional Meteorological Department on Saturday.

Earlier, seven towns in the State recorded maximum temperature of above 40 degree Celsius on Friday. Titlagarh and Angul recorded a highest maximum temperature of 40.5 degree Celsius yesterday.

Similarly, Malkangiri recorded 40.4, Sonepur 40.2, Bolangir 40.3 and Hirakud sizzled at 40 degree Celsius.

According to the officials of the regional meteorological department, the mecury is likely to hover between 39 and 40 degree Celsius while the weather will most remain dry for the next couple of days.

However, rain and thunder storm is likely to occur in some parts of coastal and adjoining districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in the next 24 hours.
