Bhubaneswar: Odisha is already experiencing scorching heat even at the beginning of March with Bhubaneswar recording a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the heat wave is going to intensify in coming days.

Temperature above 35 degrees Celsius has been recorded at 13 places across the State today with two places recording temperature above 38 degrees Celsius. The temperatures may rise to 45 degrees Celsius by end of March, informed sources.

The IMD further informed that wind flow from the South and clear skies will result lead to an increase in temperature. Coastal, western and interior parts of State will face acute heat wave like conditions as a result of which loo winds will sweep through Odisha.

There will be in a drop in temperature only if Nor'wester rains hit the State, said the IMD.
