Bhubaneswar: Odisha is now reeling under intense heat wave condition with Bhubaneswar recording a highest maximum temperature of 39.8 degree Celsius, making it the hottest place in the country on Tuesday.

As per the data of the Sky Met weather, temperatures breached the 39 degree Celsius mark in nine cities with Bhubaneswar sizzling at 39.8 degrees.

Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh recorded 39.6 followed by 39.5 in Akola in Maharastra.

The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Department forecasted that maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 38 degree and 21 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

Normal life across the State has been adversely affected due to the intense heat wave condition that has been prevailing for the last couple of days.

The mercury also touched 39 degree mark in Titlagarh, Talcher and Angul while Daringbadi and Goplapur recorded lowest temperatures of 32 degree Celsius yesterday.
