Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing heat wave condition, Odisha Government on Monday issued an advisory and asked all district collectors to take all possible measures to combat the situation.

In a letter, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) directed the officials for making provisions for potable water in buses and monitor school timings in their respective districts.

As precautionary measures, the district collectors have also been asked to ensure that the hospitals across the State are equipped with necessary facilities to tackle heat stroke cases.

Though the Norwester rains that lashed few parts on Sunday night brought relief to people from the scorching heat, the temperatures in four districts crossed 40 degree Celsius on Monday.

Sudargarh sizzled with a highest temperature of 42 degree Celsius followed by 41.1 degrees in Angul. Talcher recorded 40.8 degrees while the mercury hovered around 37 degrees in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
