Bhubaneswar: Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak will visit Chennai on Thursday to enquire about the health condition of the Parala Maharaja Gajapati Narayan Deb, who has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for treatment.

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had directed the Health Minister to visit Chennai and take stock of the king's health and the treatment being given to him. He had also announced the State government will bear all medical expenses of Parala Maharaja.

The Gajapati district administration informed that the treatment of the seriously ill Maharaja is going on in Chennai in the presence of his family members.

Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike of Congress MLA K Suriya Rao, BJP district president G Rabhana and three others was called off last evening after a discussion with the Gajapati dist administration. They were on a relay hunger strike demanding the arrest of the manager of the Maharaja's Pratisthana Ananga Manjari Patra and her brother and Personal Assistant of the king Sanjay Patra on charges of deliberately neglecting his health condition in an effort to usurp the king’s properties.

On Wednesday, the manager of the Maharaja and her brother and Personal Assistant of the king had resigned from their posts.
