He walked 1350 kms to reach Delhi & remind PM of his promises

Bhubaneswar: Muktikanta Biswal from Odisha’s Rourkela who was on a mission to meet Prime Minister Modi, has finally covered a distance of 1350 km and reached Delhi today.

After reaching the national capital, Biswal said that he will sit on dharna if he fails to meet the prime minister.

"Had come to meet him (Jual Oram) as he is an elected representative & put forth demands. But his remarks disappointed me. I will sit on dharna if I fail to meet PM," said Biswal.

Responding to Biswal's comment, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram said that there was no need for Muktikant to meet the PM and added that Congress could have sponsored Biswal's trip.

"There was no need for Muktikant Biswal from Rourkela to meet PM as already work for project has started. It appears to be a sponsored programme and we suspect involvement of Congress," said Oram.

Biswal had started his walk from the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) campus of the steel city on April 16 to remind the PM about the promise he made on 1st April, 2015 about upgrading the Ispat General hospital while addressing a crowd in Rourkela.

An idol maker by profession, Biswal had fallen ill while crossing Agra in Uttar Pradesh and was admitted to a local hospital.

Recently, Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to share an old video of PM’s speech in 2015 in which the latter is seen promising the crowd about upgrading the Ispat General hospital to a super speciality and second bridge over Brahmani river made in 2014.

The Congress President accused the PM of fooling the people of Odisha and announced a fund raising campaign for the hospital upgradation.
