Cuttack: Orissa High Court on Thursday gave its nod for holding a special OJEE to fill up vacant seats in BTech stream lying vacant in the ‘reserved category.’

While hearing a plea of the Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA), the Court has asked the State government to issue a notification for holding the second OJEE by August 5.

Advocate DP Das stated that the Court has asked competent authorities including State government to hold the special OJEE for filling up vacancies for reserved category students.

“The general and reserve category students can appear for the special OJEE and second OJEE for MBA and MCA. The general category students on merit can be allowed to take admissions if there is still vacancy under the reserve category,” said Das.

Besides, the Court has also directed to complete the entire admission process by August 14.

It is the fourth consecutive year that the Orissa High Court has issued similar directions to hold a special OJEE.
