Puri: Four persons including Sanjay Raj, manager of Hathway Cable, Puri were sent to judicial custody on Saturday after their bail pleas were rejected by local court.

Sanjay and three other staff — Sukant Samantray, Jitu Swain and Rakesh Swain were earlier arrested by the Puri Town police on charges of snapping and torching cables laid by Ortel Communications in the pilgrim town.

All the accused were arrested on basis of the CCTV footage, police said.

According to reports, the Hathway Cable Puri manager and five other staff had allegedly set Ortel cables on fire and snap them at some places in Puri on June 1.
