Bhubaneswar: Misbehaving with a woman during BJD’s 'Hak Pain Hartal' on Monday cost three persons dear as Commissionerate Police arrested them on the basis of a CCTV footage.

However, the number of arrested in connection with the incident may rise, police said.

The woman was seen harassed by several youths at Delta Square here during the hartal. Her vehicle was also damaged.

Following a complaint, a case was registered at the Khandagiri Police Station under section 143,147,294,323,354,341,506,149 of IPC.

Several other violent incidents were also reported in Capital city. Another woman Sagarika Kar alleged that her car was damaged by the unruly protesters while she was on way to hospital with her father-in-law. In a tweet tagging CM  she wrote, “Dear CM, I am a woman. I was taking my father-in-law to a hospital. Your party workers attacked and damaged my car. You lost my respect.”

Later in the day, police Commissioner YB Khurania said action would be taken if any complaint regarding harassment is registered. CCTV footage of different strategic locations will also be examined, he added.

DGP RP Sharma said nobody will be spared if found involved in violence during hartal.
