Jajpur: With a view to spread awareness on road safety, a Harley Davidson Bike Club organised a bike rally from Jajpur district today.

The bike rally was flagged-off from Brahmani Hotel in Vyasanagar area and covered 70 kilometres to reach Hadgarh in Keonjhar today. The rally is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar tomorrow.

Experienced bikers from across the State participated in the bike ride organised by the Harley Davidson Bike Club. The rally aims to spread messages on safety and security and why it is important to wear helmets and adopt other safety measures while riding a bike.

“We ride bikes all over India to create awareness among riders. Road accidents have increased alarmingly in the last ten years in the country as well as the State,” said Musadit Ali, a participant.

“The club aims to create awareness among people through rallies across India and this time we have come to Jajpur. We advise people to wear helmet and adopt other safety measures while driving,” he added.

“Almost all have bikes now-a-days but many do not adhere to traffic norms. This is the primary reason behind the rise in road mishaps. We are trying to create awareness among public through the rally,” said another biker Gobinda Panda.
