Half-burnt body of woman found in Udala

Baripada: Udala police on Saturday found a half-burnt body of a woman near Chandan Pokhari area in Radho village the district here.

The deceased has been identified as Jamuna Khatua, wife of Rabindra Khatua of Radho village.

Police have detained Rabindra Khatua for interrogation.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased have termed the death as murder.

Surendra Barik, father of Jamuna, alleged, "When my daughter returned to her in-laws house, her husband threatened to kill her."

"At around 2:30 am her husband called me and said our daughter has committed suicide by pouring kerosene on her. She was beaten to death," Surendra alleged.
