Hailstorm prevents landing of 2 flights at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: A sudden hailstorm on Friday afternoon prevented landing of two flights at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, two flights - one each of of Air India and Indigo airlines - were unable to land due to bad weather conditions in the afternoon.

The Air India flight was coming from Varanasi while the Indigo flight had originated from Bengaluru. The Air Traffic controller did not permit the flights to land in Bhubaneswar due to unfavorable weather.

It is learnt that both the flights were diverted and made a landing in Kolkata.
